Berith
…or simply Beer!
I’m a self-taught wildlife and palaeo artist. From fluffy noses to prehistoric giants: if it has—or had—paws, feathers, scales or fur, I want to draw it.
As a child, I mostly drew horses. After turning eighteen, I picked up my pencils again and began drawing dragons, movie scenes and eventually realistic animals.
Still, my real dream was to become a video editor. So I went to film school, graduated cum laude in video editing and, above all, learned one thing:
Stress. At a professional level.
After several years as a freelancer, I was stressed, burnt out and trying far too hard to make something work that simply wasn’t right for me.
Drawing, on the other hand, brought me peace.
In 2017, I began creating my wildlife maps—an idea that kept resurfacing during my travels through the US, Costa Rica and Africa. After a few local exhibitions, my Beast of Paradise adventure began in 2019.
Since then, I’ve drawn everything from playful animals to realistic and scientific illustrations.
When I’m not drawing, I love walking with my border collies, Maddy and Alice, taking photographs, riding western reining, visiting my 31-year-old horse Charlie and travelling.
